NPF Scholarship Foundation

HISTORY:

The Nigeria Police Force Scholarship Foundation was conceived by the former IGP Solomon E. Arase NPM, fdc (Rtd.) and his Management Team. Based on this development, the Force Management team registered the Foundation with the Corporate Affairs Commission on 23rd October, 2015 under the Companies and Allied Matters Act No, 1, 1990, PART C as a non-profit making organization with headquarters in Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Area 11, Garki, Abuja, Nigeria.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

The Foundation has aims and objectives which are reasons in the minds of the founding fathers for establishing it. The aims and objectives are therefore clearly listed below:

  1. To assist children of talented Police officers, serving and deceased to have quality education.
  2. To assuage the financial burden of Police officers in training their children.
  3. To encourage academic excellence in Police Children and Secondary School.
  4. To encourage time-tested education competition amongst Police children.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

The NPF Scholarship Foundation conducts competitive examinations for selection once a year, from where successful candidates and those found worthy on compassionate grounds are granted scholarship. The scheme is open to both children of deceased and serving members of the Force. However, special consideration is given to children of deceased personnel. The examination for the 2016/2017 academic session will involve only pupils of Primary 1 and JSS 1 in Secondary Schools.
